Product Contributor & Italian Localization - Lumit (Lumitlab)
Contributing to Lumit, an open-source compositing software in public beta, from a motion designer's point of view. Built in Rust, Lumit combines layer-based and node-based compositing, supports expressions in JavaScript and Rhai, and runs After Effects scripts (.jsx).
- Proposed features that have since shipped, including shared project files, Text and Paragraph panels, layered PSD and Illustrator import, packed project files, an expression editor, multiple audio stream extraction, stagger panel and stagger layers, layer numbers in the parent and matte pickers, gradient opacity stops, an edge pixels toggle on effects, and improved markers and snapping.
- Suggested the pricing model now in place: shared projects over your own network stay free, and only the features that run on Lumitlab's servers are part of Lumit Pro.
- Report bugs and test new releases.
- Started and maintain the Italian localization, credited in the v0.7.0 release notes.
